Xerox has acquired Irish Business Systems (IBS), the largest independent provider of managed print services (MPS), digital imaging and printing solutions in Ireland. The purchase price is approximately $ 31 million in cash.
IBS maintains eight offices in Ireland and supported by its own account, over 11,000 business customers. The headquarters of the company, founded in 1972 is located in Cork. From now on it will take over the distribution of all Xerox products (printers, copiers, multifunction devices) and consumables.
“With this acquisition, Xerox strengthened its presence in all parts of Ireland,” said Douraid Zaghouani, senior vice president of Xerox Channels Group of the United Europe. “Expanding our distribution channels continue to focus our strategy. IBS, the second acquisition in Europe over the past two years and is the eighth world.”
IBS will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Xerox under their own names from Cork. Founder Jerry Carey will lead the company and work with other Xerox distribution channels in the region. He reports directly to Zaghouani.
Xerox currently employs more than 700 employees in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. To the task areas include manufacturing, technical support, billing and finance, sales and marketing.
