Microsoft did not set a timeframe for the publication, marketing director Jason Reindorp but writes in an e-mail that the update “is very close to completion.” “The original date was an estimate based on the experience we have with the duration of development work and the subsequent tests,” says Reindorp. “As with any project of this kind, such things can sometimes take a little less time, sometimes a bit more.”

The update should fix a number of errors. Through one of these errors, it could in some songs that were downloaded from online music store Zune Marketplace, while playing on the player come to dropouts.
