But: The trademark for Linux is not only in America but also in Europe at the Linux developer Linus Torvalds (German mark and EU trade mark application 2088936 000 851 246). This Wednesday, the chairman of the Association of German Linux-Live, Achim Cloer. “Linus Torvalds will not tolerate the violation of his rights and proceed with all legal means against it,” said Cloer.
The Munich-based patent attorney for the Linux-Verband, Rainer Feldkamp, who also represents the interests of Linus Torvalds in Europe, said in addition, the advertised brand registration system of the Hamburg house is not opposed to the existing trademark rights of durable Torvalds. “We will take immediate appeal against the new, not authorized by Torvalds trademark application at the German Patent and Trademark Office,” announced Feldkamp.
