Hewlett-Packard (HP; Frankfurt Stock Exchange: HWP) has expanded its scanner family in the low to mid-range with three new models. According to the company allows users to scan in the three new devices, the images automatically, or the settings themselves generate.

The ScanJet 5370C is from 1 Mark July for an estimated 599 available. The 3400C and 4300C models are aimed at families or home-office users. Both models have the HP PrecisionScan LTX software with “scan to Web” skills. They are also from 1 Available in July. The 3400C costs $ 199 mark, the 4300C expected 299 marks.

The 5370C delivers results with 42-bit color depth and resolution up to 1200 by 2400 dpi. Thus, it scans images twice as sharp as a standard 600-dpi scanner. With the included transparent materials adapter, users can also read negative, 35-millimeter slides and transparencies up to 12.5 x 12.5 centimeters templates. A 25-page automatic feeder is optional. It enables unattended scanning of documents up to a size of 21.6 x 35.5 centimeters.

The 4300C is designed for mainly home-office users. It has front buttons for scanning and emailing, and a control panel with LCD display for color copies. The device is the first of its price class, both black and white and color copies directly from the scanner to the printer without the user typing commands on the PC. About the copy control panel, users can adjust up to 99 copies.

Also on the front page of the ScanJet 3400C, there are buttons for scanning, color copies and e-mails. The new software, HP PrecisionScan LTX with an integrated, multi-lingual OCR guides the user through five steps in the scanning process. So he is perfectly capable of images and documents into editable electronic files to convert. All devices can be used via a USB or parallel interface.
