Japanese company Sharp has decided to temporarily suspend its product lines, which produce flat panels such as 8G and 10G. 8G-plant currently operates at 40% of maximum power, while the 10G-factory – at a level of 60-70%. 70% of the total production at both plants consumes itself, Sharp to produce their television sets, while the remaining 30% are Sony and Philips.
As the industry sources, this decision caused a sharp decline in demand for LCD TVs in Japan, due to recent unfortunate events. Depending on the development of the market, “freezing” the production can last 1-2 months.
