Sage Group, which claims to an international market leader in commercial PC software for small and medium-sized businesses, opened a business “portal” site (www.sage.com). It provides, inter alia, current financial and economic data, reference works, links to industry associations as well as train and flight connections. A German version will follow later this year.

Moreover, any forecast of future programs have features that automatically accessed from the Sage on the Web portal. As one example, the company handling bank transactions, credit check or an automatic currency conversion.

Sage also provides companies with the design of their own homepages, which are lower than the forecast site available free to the network or hire your own internet shop.

“So everyone can have such a small operation to test the new medium in itself, without having to make large investments,” writes the company.

Sage KHK in Germany realized the new offer in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom and Intershop.

SAP announced in early May, a similar e-commerce strategy: With a new “portal” that will go online in the fourth quarter, the Walldorf software company wants to create a global e-commerce marketplace.
