Alex Gounares (Image: Microsoft) AOL has allegedly lured Microsoft manager Alex Gounares. As All Things Digital reported, citing sources familiar with the situation, he will assume the post of AOL’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Microsoft had Gounares’s departure according to the report given on Friday announced internally. As Corporate Vice President, he was responsible for research and development of the advertising business as well as CTO responsible for the online services of the software group.
As is clear from his CV on the Microsoft website, Gounares was also crucially involved in the development of Microsoft’s overall business strategy. Previously, he was Microsoft founder Bill Gates for three years as a technical assistant to advise.
Gounares will replace Ted Cahall, who had left the company in late January.
