AMD today announced the first processors for notebooks, which are manufactured in 0.18-micron technology. The features of the CPU is a high-speed L2 cache, the PowerNow power management technology and the improved implementation of the 3D Now Commands with digital signal processing.
The K6-III + processor is offered in clock speed 450, 475 and 500 MHz. He has 256 Kbytes of Level 2 cache and supports Trilevel cache design that provides access to an optional MB Level 3 cache. The CPU has a 100 MHz front side bus.
The K6-2 + processor is designed for high-priced notebooks and comes with 450, 475 and 500 MHz. The CPU has a 128 KB Level 2 cache and a 100MHz front side bus. Both processors need in battery saving mode, three watts. The devices come in 321-pin ceramic socket 7/Super7-kompatiblen case and are manufactured in Texas. The 2 + processor will come in the Hewlett-Packard Pavilion N3215 notebook is used.
