The ongoing for months, talk to Kopierschuztmechanismen warned the chairman of the German Phono Associations Just three months before the election to hurry: “We expect the Federal Government and the Bundestag speedy implementation of the proposed copyright law amendment,” the chairman Gerd Gebhardt said yesterday, Tuesday.
The current discussion had shown that all parties see need for action. The associations had made this clear at all political levels. Gebhardt added: “We have now got the attention of the policy as never before, political conclusions can, however, in many areas in coming.” Time was, however, given the “current problems” quick action was “urgently required”.
A rapid change in the law, which protects against more massive copying is “of crucial importance for the further development of the German music market.” The talks on this would be continued by the associations as the competent organs of the industry.
