Paul Rouget, Technical Evangelist at Mozilla, has criticized Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9. In his view, though he is “definitely better than IE8 and a step in the right direction” but not a modern browser like Firefox 4 P>
Microsoft submitted test results, according to which the IE9 to 99 percent, the HTML 5 spec to 100 percent and CSS3 (Cascading Style Sheets) support, Rouget described in his blog as a wrong. In reality, Microsoft is far from it. The tests, which refers to the software giant had been conducted during the development of the browser. “It is not surprising that they pass the tests they use for the development of the browser – cut in our own tests, we also perform well.” P> p>
To support his position, has Rouget Internet Explorer 9 RC itself on its compatibility with HTML 5 and Web standards are tested and compared the results with four or Firefox versions 3.5 and 3.6. “The truth is that the IE9 comes two years too late,” said Rouget on. Other vendors have things like HTML-5-day “video” and “Canvas”, which Microsoft now offering the first IE9, years ago into their browser. P>

Criticism of the new Microsoft browser also comes from the developers of the tests used by Rouget. “The IE9 is still lagging behind other current browsers,” says the blog Caniuse.com, a benchmark for web standards. “He is almost the same with Firefox 3.6.” In addition, the IE9 lacked important features like CSS3 Border Images, text shadows, Web Workers, and Offline Web Apps. Currently, HTML 5 is present only a preliminary specification, which is however used by most browser vendors already. The standardization will have the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) finalized until the second quarter of 2014th In May, the first “last call” draft of standards to be adopted. P>
The new versions of browsers from Microsoft and Mozilla are nearing release. Microsoft has released the Release Candidate of IE9 ready. Firefox 4 is still in beta. On the twelfth beta, which is expected in the coming days, will follow the Release Candidate. P>
