Microsoft (Frankfurt Stock Exchange: MSF) is gearing up in the antitrust trial for the appellate proceedings before the U.S. Supreme Court: the software giant has just the states in the well-known specialists for appointments to the Supreme Court of Carter Phillips, 47 hired.

The first task for Phillips will be to prevent his own use: First, he should try namely, the appeal process but not before the Supreme, but unsubscribe before the appeals court in Washington.

As previously reported, Judge Thomas Jackson ordered on 20 June on the case directly to delegate to the Supreme Court. Microsoft, however wants to go the long way through the courts.

On 7 June Judge Jackson had imposed penalties for the long-awaited Microsoft. The software giant has been criticized in principle, all in the past two years points to modifications of its business activities convicted. Furthermore, it should be split in two. Only thus could be prevented, that Microsoft still exercised its monopoly position.

As speculated in the run, which is one half of the firms receive sovereignty over Windows, the other half will receive applications and Internet applications. Jackson ordered a period of four weeks, during which the group must submit its own plans for a split. The division had to endure for ten years and be monitored closely because the company had shown during the procedure is anything but trustworthy.
