The computer manufacturer MAXDATA has increased in the past, thanks to significant increases in second quarter 2005 unit sales of PCs and monitors its sales though, but extended the losses. Quarterly sales climbed over the same period by 5.6 percent to 147.6 million euros, Maxdata announced today, according to preliminary calculations. In most product groups were significantly more devices have been sold, it was announced at the company. For example, the number of monitors sold rose by 42 percent, and flat panel displays could be nearly doubled. P>
Despite sales growth Maxdata extended its losses, however, continues. The EBIT loss in the previous three-month period to 8.7 million euros, compared to 5.8 million euros in the prior quarter. For the higher losses blamed Maxdata including the expansion of sales channels and further enhance the distribution companies and investments in the modernization of the picking. For the current second half Maxdata expects a good order situation and the positive effects of the restructuring measures. The Board therefore confirmed the optimistic forecast for the year. Accordingly, in the current fiscal year, generated sales in excess of 700 million €. EBIT is expected to climb to over five million euros. In the fiscal year Maxdata had achieved a turnover of 660 million euros, an EBIT of 0.3 million €. P>
