As reported by Reuters, the research group from Japan discovered on the Pacific Ocean vast deposits of rare earth materials. Finding confirmed by soil samples, extracted from the bottom at depths ranging from 3,500 to 6,000 meters in 78 locations. The deposits are located in international waters and stretch to the west and east of Hawaii and east of Tahiti and French Polynesia. P>
According to experts, found deposits contain from 80 to 100 billion metric tons of rare earth materials, which is much more current global stocks at 100 million tonnes, located mainly in China, Russia and the United States. Mr. Kato said not even approximate the timing of the developments identified deposits, but it is clear that Japan would not miss this wonderful chance to say goodbye to dependence on China’s supply of rare earth materials.
