Intel spokesman Christian Anderka has confirmed the previous rumors on the Internet through a setting of Prescott’s successor, Tejas towards ZDNet. Similarly, the development of next year’s planned Xeon processor Jayhawk has been stopped.
“For next year we plan to introduce several dual-core processors for notebook and desktop segment. Therefore we have the development of single-Tejas CPU stopped,” said Intel spokesman Anderka on request from ZDNet. The introduction of dual-core Xeon processors will also be evaluated according Anderka for the year 2005.
Whether the dual-architecture is based on the current Pentium 4 architecture of the Centrino or Pentium M processor, could not say Anderka.
