The sales forecasts for the U.S. market are ten billion dollars far exceeds expectations for Europa.In all European countries, this year’s Christmas sales make up a large percentage of total online sales for the year. The proportions range from 23 percent in Denmark to 39 percent in Greece.

In absolute numbers, the German retailers are recorded according to the study, the highest revenues and occupy a total of 715 million euros by the online Christmas shopping. This corresponds to 31 percent of total online revenue in 2000. In second place would be followed by Great Britain.
