The federal government has admitted visits to save on almost all websites of ministries and subordinate agencies. The reported time. This practice violates a final ruling of the district council in Berlin-Mitte, 27 March 2007. It forbade the judges to the federal Justice Department just this approach. The reason given was that the IP addresses already provided personal information dar. The Ministry is therefore obliged to remove them after the end of the user activity.
The federal government argued that the store was needed to fend off attacks from the Internet and “attack patterns” to recognize. In their view IP addresses are also not in itself personal data. However, the impact of the ruling was currently being “intensively” tested.
