FBI to secure computer networks

The Clinton administration plans to American newspaper reports, the establishment of two national surveillance systems controlled by the FBI. They are intended as non-military government and the private key to protect computer networks from hacker attacks.

This affects also the networks of large banks, telephone companies and the transportation industry. The name of the system: “Federal Intrusion Detection Network (Fidnet)”.

The plan was worked out by employees of the National Security Council. He states that can seek from the year 2003, a National Infrastructure Protection Center “thousands” of computer programs signs of illegal invaders. The knowledge gained will be deposited in a unit of the FBI.
