Elsa has announced to ship this fall modem to the V.92 modem standard adopted last week. NeueITU The standard allows a faster connection setup, increases the upstream velocity and the first to support the comfort feature “Modem on Hold” (ZDNet) reported.
The company also plans a “faith-exchange action” for owners of older Elsa modems. First “V.92 ready” modems are in the Micro-Link family are on the market. These modems are equipped with the V.90 standard, but can charge via firmware update to upgrade to V.92. Up for CeBIT 2001, the company plans to gradually in its implementation of V.92 modem Microlink entire family.
A recent firmware update Microlink modems to V.92-V.90 is not possible for reasons of hardware.
