After yesterday’s failure of the nationwide T-Mobile mobile phone network, the company’s customers can now once again as usual. Everything functioning again, said company spokesman George Pölzl compared to the ZDF morning show.
With the loss yesterday afternoon and early evening, voice and SMS services were affected. From approximately 16 million clock by T-Mobile customers had their phones for hours to use. After a reset, and gradual re-booting the system, the first parts of the network were again about 19 clock available.
Reason for the disturbance in the cellular business was a software error in the so-called Home Location Register (HLR). The HLR is responsible for creating a connection between mobile station and the associated mobile number. How did it come to the massive breakdown, however, is so far not been clarified. According to the company, currently operates aetiology. Also unknown is the exact number of people affected by the disturbance T-Mobile customers.
“We regret this incident and apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” said Guenther Ottendorfer, CTO of T-Mobile Germany.
