Sony has introduced its first notebook with Blu-ray-drive, dubbed VAIO AR. The appearance of the first models of this series is scheduled for summer 2006.
devices are available in two configurations: standard and premium. AR Premium able to meet basic computer needs, and can play Blu-ray Discs in standard 1080p HD. To view the authors have provided high-quality video laptop widescreen 17-inch WUXGA LCD display (XBRITE Hi-Color) with a working resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. If the built-in screen does not like, VAIO AR is possible to connect to a TV using an HDMI konnektora and the bundled cable. The best part is that in addition to HD-playback, a new computer is also able to write to Blu-ray media (as well as on traditional DVD-R/RW, DVD + R / + RW).
«Premium” model of VAIO AR is equipped with a Intel Centrino Duo, TV tuner, graphics card NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 with 256MB of video memory, video camera, microphone, ideal for business and pleasure. Included with the laptop, users will also get the film House of Flying Daggers on BD, which allows to enjoy all the beauty of the Carpathian mountains in high definition.
AR Standard Cost starts at $ 1,800, and with AR Premium Blu-ray will take no less than $ 3,500. Source
