Acer has expanded its notebook portfolio with the 15-inch Aspire series 5253rd It is based on AMD’s Brazos platform and uses depending on the model, the low power consumption-oriented fusion APUs C-50 (Ontario) or E-350 (Zacate) with the integrated graphics unit.
This should smooth HD video playback and streaming, 3D-accelerated video encoding and games should be possible. Whom the service is not yet enough, you can rely on an additional discrete graphics type AMD Radeon HD 6470M with 512 MB of dedicated memory.
The RAM can be expanded to up to 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. The maximum disk capacity is 750 GB.
The reflective 15.6-inch display has a 16:9 resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels. The operating system is the 64-bit edition of Windows 7 Home Premium is used.
The equipment also includes Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1 or 3.0, a 2-in-1 card reader, HD Webcam (1280 x 1024 pixels) and a dual-layer DVD burner. Of connections are available besides audio ports, three USB 2.0 ports as well as one HDMI and VGA output.
The first models in the Aspire 5253 series coming in February in the colors black, brown and red on the market. The retail price for the 38.1 times 25.3 times 3.4 centimeters wide and 2.6-pound notebook entry is € 399. The warranty period is two years.
